Lovely article by @zoesqwilliams about her journey from Twitter to Mastodon. It really is.
But I feel it needs a corrective.
It's not called the Fediverse because Mastodon is comprised of many servers.
It's called the Fediverse because there's literally a universe of federated protocols, apps, instances, and tools that talk to each other.

@simsa04 @gnu2 In theory, following remote GS groups from a GS instance is possible, but glitches may happen (as now seems to be the case).

You can't follow GS groups from Mastodon.

Normally, people outside one's instance cannot join a group created on that very instance. For reasons I don't understand I was able to join two groups on nu.federati.net which runs Gnusocial version 2.0.0-dev, an earlier version than gnusocial.net's version 2.0.1-beta0. People on an instance from the Mastodon-network told me they cannot join groups on gnusocial.net.

No, a ver, respeto tu opinión y tu experiencia, claro. Es sólo que acabo de leer que las instancias unipersonales somos como el 25 % del #Fediverso, y veo claro, al menos por las que yo sigo, que el troleo no es su motivación.

@spla @moribundo Bueno, sí se ha notado en aumento de recursos. Nada grave, sobre todo comparado con servidores más grandes, pero algo a tener en cuenta si el #Fediverso sigue creciendo.
