I never said pixelfed was stable or even ready for production, its not even 6 months old. I can understand your enthusiasm but creating something like pixelfed isn't a weekend project.

@jaywink Oh I understand that, using SRI I was thinking of hosting the script on pixelfed.org. The iframe can set the referrerpolicy to no-referrer.

@jaywink Yes, its like IG or mastodon embed. All the js does is lazy load the div and turn it into an iframe like the IG embed.js does.

@trwnh No, its intentional. The embed uses that so it doesnt conflict with the pixelfed object on pixelfed itself.

Updated the embed.js script to lazy load embeds and validate embed urls.

One more thing, albums and videos will also be supported!

@mike This embed feature is for embedding a pixelfed status on any website. As for pixelfed federation, media is handled like pleroma or mastodon.

@jalcine Yeah, the image optimization logic needs to be updated.

It does lazy load each embed, I slowed it down to show what it looks like.
