    ご参考まで。今昔マップはMaptiler使って地図をタイル化しているそうです。

    私やばやりーす先生が作っているleafletで動いている路線図は、力技でタイル化してます。
    私の個人的な意見ですが、タイル化したほうが扱いは楽になるとは思います。
