answering a question by https://noagendasocial.com/@battlepenguin/1061036867338814711) this protest is, ideally, about freeing alexey navalny (main opposition leader) from jail, just because he dared to come back to russia after being poisoned by the fsb. more realistically, it's about granting him proper medical care. he's also 21 days into a hunger strike at the moment, demanding he is seen to by independent doctors (who have no ties with the jail he's in)2) masks are mandated wherever there are lots of people gathering together. public transport, inside shops, etc. some places are exempt, notably gyms.3) i don't really know how things are enforced in rural areas, but i do know the vast majority of the rural population couldn't give less of a shit about this sort of stuff.4) if you go into a store without a mask, you'll be asked to put one on, then to leave, and if you keep insisting that you don't need a mask (unless you're medically exempt) the police will call you, remove you from the premises, and give you a fine
