GIANT IRONWEED has a name that we can all agree is intimidating and wonderful. In good rich soil, it can reach 9' tall, and its stem is extremely tough. Because deer and cows won't eat it, it's a "bad agricultural weed," so agriculture was a mistake. Butterflies and native bees, especially long-tongued bees, are very attracted to ironweed, as are several insects that are named "ironweed borer/moth/aphid etc". Names are destiny.
