EugenThere is a feature request asking Mastodon to strip out custom emojis from display names. What's the problem with them? Mostly it's about spoofing Twitter's verified badge, which is not a problem for experienced users but continuously trips up new people. However, that occurs even with ✅. The other problem is it's annoying how emojis are read out on screen readers. So maybe we should just strip out all emojis from display names?
