tell that to slack, which discord completely copied down to the UI design. slack is proprietary yet discord still managed to steal everything it had going for it

just because you can’t see the security holes doesn’t make them any less real. if i sold you a bulletproof vest that had one part vulnerable, would you still wear it, even if nobody knew where that hole was?
the only reason something would be proprietary would be if they were doing something wrong and didn’t want people to know about, if discord was open source they wouldn’t be able to get away with spying on their users
