  @karen you don't like fossilized locative case forms? (to be clear I don't know if that's what's going on with that English expression, but the fact that latin had a vaguely-similar construct dating back to the Indo-European locative case is suggestive)

  @karen I wish I had access to the Oxford English dictionary because I'm curious about this now and it's possible that they would have a note about this under the lexical entry for "home"
