   In 2016 I started working on a successor to GNU/Social. When I re-joined the fediverse in March 2018 I realized it couldn't compete with Mastodon and Pleroma.

   I started working on Pixelfed instead. I'm glad I made that choice!

     Just realized "mastadon" is misspelled. I remember DM'ing Gargron about that in 2016. I warned him to register mastadon.com/.social because I kept spelling it wrong.

     @hoergen Yes, diogo and I are working on it this summer.

     I want to rewrite GS using the laravel framework. I'm more excited for this than pixelfed tbh.

     @clacke @hoergen If it wasn't for StatusNet, I wouldn't be in the fediverse. Being able to contribute back is a dream I've had for years ?
