     @knotteye Mattermost was pretty OK when I last used it, it was missing some critical admin features, but for chatting the only thing I missed was emoji reactions and yeah, federation.

     @knotteye The feature I really needed was the ability to delete old messages past a certain age. It was not supported at the time, but looking at the docs now it looks like MM has a data retention job that can do exactly this. So my major complaint is gone.

     @moonman Actually, XHTML in !xmpp is officially obsolete for security reasons.
