   @blarkin58 @Ricotta @nik I disagree. The feeling that just killing yourself would be simple if it didn't bother anyone comes from having things to lose. It comes from being a productive member of society. If you're gone when who does your work? Who looks after your things and the people you care about? The more you have to lose, the sweeter it seems to just kill yourself and to be free of all those obligations. But at the same time it just feel very rude to place additional burdens on those people you care about, and so you end up with a "shit I better stay alive and o it myself then huh" scenario.

     @Ricotta @nik Eh, even though different generations express themselves differently, the thoughts behind our actions are pretty much the same. To this day I still wonder if it wouldn't help everyone if I just killed myself now, before heading off to the office and doing adult things all day.
     
     "Waah I wanna kill myself" is a feeling pretty much everyone shares. The only reason why we still exist a species is because other things are more important. "My family will suffer if I'm gone!" - "I have to finish this project!" - "I want to watch S2 of this anime!" The things that keep us here might seem silly to some, but at the end of the day we're all just not killing ourselves becasue we'd miss out on things and because it's really rude to bother others like that.

     @nik You can buy all the hormones you like on the free market. The "gatekeeping" isn't there to keep you from buying them. It's to to protect the people that pay for their health insurance from having to pay for a meme.

     the gatekeeping is deliberately long so you can't just go "haha yes gib meds" on a whim. Anything permanent requires you to wait x years (at least here), but anyone that's 100% sure is just going to buy things anyhow so all it really does is filter out AGPs/trender-types
