   it's rarely as obvious as "someone hitting you" or "getting locked in a locker"
   it's far more insidious and difficult to recognise until its too late and you've become used to it

     i *still* trust absolutely no compliment ever given to me because of just how many times trick ones were thrown at me in my school years
     
     you think "oh it's just kids joking" but heck it leaves you unable to be "normal" in the long run
