   Like, unless you're fascists yourself there's no reason to claim Pleroma is being persecuted when people are just saying "hey, there's fascists using your software and organising mass shootings on Pleroma instances" .

     I don't think... anyone thinks that the software is being "persecuted". the only thing to that effect I've ever seen is people saying "hey don't assume that just because questionable people use the same software that we do, that we're alike"
     I am 99% sure the blobcat thing was a joke to that effect - it's a PNG of a yellow blobby cat and a name. there's no way that that could *ever* be hateful
     there's likely very few pleroma admins that will disagree that far-right-to-fascist people do indeed use the software. same with mastodon. we should not conflate software with users, lest we allow this bizarre tribal mindset to proliferate
