the guard starts an announcement with a super drawn-out "APPARENTLY.... there was a train fault at..." and carries on trying to say what happened

and then says "sorry for this week as a whole, it's been a bit rubbish..." which for you non-brits out there is the equivalent of saying "it's been garbage service and not even I, who is paid by this company, can even attempt to downplay it"
