@hector this is like my go-to argument whenever I argue taxes. Every tax on the employer is a burden on employee and consumer.

Here in the Philippines they put 35-40% tariff on all rice imports. Government claims all revenue will be put into improving rice industry and making it competitive. They have been claiming this for years, and the effect is just people get less rice to feed families and government gets to pocket more cash. Historically our departments have been incompetent, and the Department of Agriculture is no exception.
