I think we're in the same boat. I let go for a few years and now my waist over hip ratio is almost 1. Since I noticed that I have been working to get back to normal, but I ran (literally) into the same problem as you : I get tired too easily. Every time I push myself too hard I feel like puking.
Anyways, what I've been doing is:
- measure progress (most important)
- increase protein in diet
- strength training
- as much cardio as I could handle
IMO if you keep measuring and see the results of your effort, even if it's just a little, it becomes easier to keep on going.
