   @crunklord420 @colonelj @FailurePersonified tbh that rgb displayport cable isn't really that offensive at a product considering they're selling 8m ones at $75 when the cheapest fiber optic displayports on amazon here are $59. it's a stupid luxury item but it's not really that marked up.
   
   excessive consoomerism is a minor sin to me. people who buy shit they can't afford have bigger psychological problems than just being susceptible to advertising.

     the thing about having a existential epithany like linus is that it mostly doesn't really matter what you're doing since it's all meaningless from a higher perspective. shilling high tech gadgets for a living isn't ideal but i don't think it hurts anything either and educating viewers on what to actually look for in products in terms of specs and features is good for the industry in the long run if it means people are less likely to buy obviously shit products just because of the brand name because they know what the words mean on the spec sheet. as far as tech channels go, LTT is pretty middle of the road with dishonest shills like unbox therapy on one end and stand up guys like gamersnexus on the other.
