   It is so damn hot and you could save money on A/C and spare yourself the heat by just sleeping during the day and I'm gonna just do that.I don't know why everyone doesn't do that. Think about it, man.

     @georgia @a7 @igel No, but I know what passes for Chinese food there and I know a lot of Chinese people that got trapped on the east coast, the reports are all the same. It's always Cantonese food, and not just Cantonese but SF-style Cantonese. A building that says "Szechuan" (because they use Wade-Giles instead of Hanyu; someone from Sichuan would be using Hanyu) in fake-ass Chinese font and you go inside and it's orange chicken and that dry-ass weird ham Cantos love and cream cheese wontons and egg drop soup.And I hear this from everyone. New York's Chinatown, Chicago's Chinatown, every time I attempt to verify it, it's the same: half the food is covered with a sweet, starchy goop (even the *fish*), the menu is a minefield.Behold, this is what Chinese food looks like, it's excellent. Note that there is no glaze, it's all chili oil. Those little spheroids on the fish up there (braised in a creamy pork broth, not deep-fried and then glazed with starchy goop), those are Sichuan peppers, I have never even seen one on the east coast.sichuan_no.1.jpgsome_food.jpg

     @a7he's right about everything except the climate. its not as bad as LA by a long shot. summers can get hot but winters get real cold. ALSO IT DOESNT SMELL BAD@p @igel

     @igel Man, I wanna just donate New England to the EU. It's hot there, too, but it's also humid and bugs and it smells terrible and they use CoffeeMate instead of milk and their Chinese food sucks so bad.
