   @spaceman also the higher prison population directly spawns more gang activity, because unless you're in solitary or maybe min sec you're forced to self-sort by gang / "race" (indian/latino/black/white) and punished by other inmates for "colluding with the enemy" etc. the "gateway drug" argument applies a lot better to prison time for smaller offences than it does to actual drugs

     @spaceman have you ever spoken tolikeanyone who's been to prison before?also, re dnc, the protesting has put them in a bind for who to choose as vp as well. they were going to go for klob but had to drop her because ties to minneapolis and "failing to prosecute" the guy who killed who killed floyd (back when he'd only killed like two people + various assault and misconduct accusations). they memed themselves into having to choose a woman, and now the only other vetted-and-approved one on hand is kamala... except she's also a "tough on crime" ex-police officer with a history of needless arrests, getting people killed, and laughing about it, sotreading softly on broken glass. thankfully for them, trump et. al are shooting themselves in the face pushing the exact opposite narrative with "dnc == communists == china", so there's some leeway
