What kind of idiotic larp are you guys doing in the us right now
-
@kaikatsu @Moon eh, it fits pretty well actually into response to police violence, the naked-standing thing. "attack me now, while i'm defenceless" kind of dare, sort of escalation of the "hands-up" thing
-
@Moon I don't know where I sit ideologically tbh. All I know is that the BLM protests are purely symbolic and intend to improve 0 lives, but destroy many out of perceived justice. And for white women to walk naked to push a completely different agenda to try to hook into The Popular Movement Of Now is incredibly, incredibly fitting of the synthetic left. It's crabs in a bucket, all looking to push their own Most Important Issue We All Need To Focus On NOW! completely ignoring that most would be solved if they just worked together on the one biggest issue of poverty.
-
@kaikatsu when I was on Twitter I remember those guys, I could actually somewhat respect them.
-
@Moon @lain I feel like there needs to be a term for "communists that actually follow dialectical materialism" because its incredibly subverted into the woke "break rules for the fun of it" left
-
@kaikatsu @lain you a communist but I agree with a lot you say.
-
@lain I like how white women come out and act like being naked is a revolutionary thing and not like the entire US is built around protecting their egos as Magical CreaturesCool "pussy power" you ugly skank, but its not about you.
-
@kaikatsu @Moon and also, in relevant demographics, "white woman" is consistently the least-often attacked, so
-
@izarella @Moon The communist bit is that most of their issues come from capitalism, but attacking each issue one by one is bound to fail. Capitalism encourages competition in every aspect of life, and eventually people come to hate those around them because they want to succeed. It encourages egoism and separating into tribes to fight each other. And it's a lot easier to make tribes based on visible things: race, sexuality, sex.The end result of the woke left is just symbolic victories. Gay marriage is accepted, now gay couples can drown in mortgage together. Too many white cops killed black people, so we need more black cops killing black people. Women want the choice to work, so now they too get to slave away at minimum wage.If everybody just sat down and said "x many people in this city need food. Let's get them food." or "y many people in this city can't afford rent. Let's get them housing", you would save *so many people* from this cycle of "this is the fault of <group I'm not in>". People not struggling to survive are much more receptive to social issues *after* you help them not need to fight to survive every day!
-
@kaikatsu @Moon This is far too reasoned and sensible a view for a crazed communist.
-
@Moon @kaikatsu
-
@Moon @kaikatsu like it's a good way to force cognitive dissonance precisely because of the "magical creature" status, "this is what you're shooting"
-
@shpuld @Moon @kaikatsu idunno, maybe it's a hard point to make following whatever "feminism" stuff or "stop killing cows, and also here are my bobs", but it's still a good onerandom shield dude also didn't think it was safe either, wouldn't stop getting in the way, so not really an "i'm fine"-feeling situation for the crowd there, as reference for on-site tone
-
@shmibs @Moon @kaikatsu it comes off as "this isn't about me, I'm safe, so I'll grab attention and show off my body"
-
@shpuld @Moon @kaikatsu and also in the context of there already having been a dozen other women standing, doing nothing, and being shot anyways
-
@shpuld @Moon @kaikatsu "powerful" has nothing to do with what i saidand yeh, maybe it will be interpreted differently by random people on the internet, can't help that, but the intended audience were those dudes with guns
-
@shmibs @Moon @kaikatsu I know what I'm thinking when I see that and what I'm thinking is definitely not "it's powerful" even if you can come up with an explanation about what the point might be. I'm almost sure it's the same for most people looking. "this is not about you stop making it about you" is an appropriate response
-
@shpuldsure, but not in the context of shooting them, "i have nothing to protect me". it's the opposite of "powerful"might have limited effectiveness, what with the higher rate of domestic violence among police guys but, and the protest stuff generally has been pretty ineffectual, mis-targetted etcbut, within that context, this is a good move
-
@shmibs @Moon @kaikatsu naked people at protests are nothing new, I'm sure it's nothing new for them either
-
@shpuld dunnomaybe the sense is not the same from over there also, nudity stuff, butfeels similar to groups of moms, "beating up a bunch of mothers?"maybe i don't understand guys, thoguh ┐('_`;)┌
-
@shmibs the message is what I'm talking about, and I don't think is not powerful, it's weak as hell. if I had to bet the cops don't get dissonance, but instead think "oh another crazy fuck wants attention"
-
@Moon @kaikatsu @shpuld yes
-
@shmibs @shpuld @kaikatsu maybe off-topic but doesn't then shield-guy kind of undermine the point she's making by getting in her way, that she's defenseless
-
@shpuld were anyways dhs, these guys, rather than police, so
-
@shmibs if you put yourself in the shoes of people who constantly see the worst of mankind in their job, they won't have a hard time applying occam's razor and pick the easy option of "yep white woman likes attention" over deeper messages that might be intended but get overshadowed
