found out about reduction of unstressed о and а to one sound in russian recently, only because I saw a bunch of belarussian words that are similar to russian, except having unstressed 'о's swapped with 'а's and wondered why is that. kinda weird how I always knew about it on a subconscious level, but never actually realized it
