     @boob @shmibs @NeikoCat we knew before that most people who died had preexisting conditions. this just made a meme out of a known entity. however many americans, certainly older americans, have preexisting conditions, and they're still people who would be alive if not for corona. were other epidemics of similar high infectiousness and low virulence to exist in the modern era of high life expectancy and morbidity from chronic noncommunicable diseases I think the stats would be similar. less people dying is good and no precautions were taken a million people could have died. we can argue about whether a bunch of old and sick people dying is a bad thing, I think it is.

It is everyone’s responsibility to look after their own health. And, in fact, anyone who cared was doing it already! Most have short memories, but I remember pre-lockdown, anyone who was concerned prepared themselves adequately, the shutdown is not for them. The economic aftermath of all of this on small towns is fucked, and no one cares because they think they’re such good people, which is all it is.

     Destroy anything you want, submit to anything the authorities tell you to. If you convince people they’re morally justified, it doesn’t matter that none of it has teeth, it doesn’t matter that it’s a blatant violation of civil liberties. Ridiculous.
