   @mametsuko oh btw we think it’s rude to assume you are bad at german just because you “look foreign” so if we talk german to you first, it’s being polite.

     @mametsuko germans are used to foreigners adapting to germany. Or at least we expect it for most who stay here for a longer time. Id assume its less common in hungary.

     Of course people speak English if they know I can't speak German but they speak to me in German at first. In Hungary, most people talk to me in English.
