fuckin globals, fixed a problem in this glquakish port where status bar would be way too bright compared to rest. I checked the rendering routines, I checked the texture loading routines, everything was the same as elsewhere where things worked rightthen I moved the status bar initialize call a few lines up and then it would look identical to the rest and not too bright. clearly some global modified in the inbetween lines that changes how the texture loading was done
