     @knotteye @lain people stopped doing lawns here very quickly when water prices increased a little. more important, though, is the completely clueless way irrigation for them is set, spraying all over concrete and running at random times and too often

     @lain Weird country to target for lawn eradication. America has swathes of excess land, a few bits of grass in cities don't count for much.

     @knotteye @lain of course like a third of the water is used for crops for animal feed though, so definitely bigger probs to smush, but
