p (p@freespeechextremist.com)'s status on Wednesday, 14-Oct-2020 08:07:44 JST p @Jessica @nik Is there a reasonably current C64 implementation of https? That was the main thing holding back *really* old OSs. roka likes this. -
Google Bad ???? (jessica@fedi.absturztau.be)'s status on Wednesday, 14-Oct-2020 08:07:46 JST Google Bad ???? @p @nik i wonder if it would work with a commodore 64, since they have wifi cards -
roka (roka@pl.smuglo.li)'s status on Wednesday, 14-Oct-2020 08:11:20 JST roka @p @Jessica @nik bloat doesn't have to be served over https but oauth would need it. It'd be pretty funny if you could run it on :sega: Saturn's Planetweb browser but I don't think it handles frames correctly either ehhh -
roka (roka@pl.smuglo.li)'s status on Wednesday, 14-Oct-2020 08:14:30 JST roka @Jessica @nik @p I retract what I said about frames btw, it handled them similar to lynx – only one at a time -

p (p@freespeechextremist.com)'s status on Wednesday, 14-Oct-2020 08:28:26 JST p @roka @Jessica @nik Yeah, the login part was the part that horrified old browsers. You would have difficulty viewing images (bloat itself doesn't proxy them so you'd be hitting the network for that) but that'd be mostly moot. I wonder if you could even parse the HTML from some of these threads in the RAM a C64 had. (You could prolly do it on an Amiga.) roka likes this.
