@shpuld@hakui@jun eh, but seeing filenames is only useful when coming from people who want you to see them, because for everyone else it's just char-jumbleand conversely, if others can't be trusted to see the filename you use then it becomes useless for conveying information
@shmibs@jun@hakui the whole filename thing needs a serious rework, it's been ass backwards since GS days. clearly there are people who want to see the links and people who don't, so why is it an option for the sending server? why is it not a client option to display them or not. then those who don't want to see them don't see them, and those who want to see them see them from even mastodon/misskey

@jun@hakui@shmibs I can just mouseover to see the descriptionit's just wrong how it's forcibly added to the status content, it's not status content, it's attachment meta data. why does a sending server decide the presentation for individual clients?
