@nik @kaikatsu not really in practice, though, no...at least to me seems, security gets waylaid typically because capitalism. that first-to-market push being prioritised over everything, and management people downplaying the potential cost of breachesdon't think that would change unless there was a massive spike in attacks, but even then places are hit with ransomware etc all the time now and it still makes no real differenceand then what happens with intentional backdoors? and end-users who can't protect themselves with no way of assessing security

@kaikatsu laws that make hacking illegal encourage entities (public and private) to be lax on security practices because they expect the legal system to be enough of a deterrent alone
