   @brother @Anthiese @jeder @kazuma @pasty I actually wonder if the problem is that cyberpunk as a theme is still kind of stuck in the 80s, transmetropolitan was it own completely modern genre rather than cyberpunk.

     @Moon @brother @Anthiese @jeder @kazuma @pasty 80s had those themes bouncing around, though, feels like"main-stream" things just were always kinda derivative/boring, like finding out about "shadowrun" a little while ago, was eh, "it's just d&d" feeling

     @Anthiese @Moon @jeder @kazuma @pasty This sounds like a fucking mess. I don't see why they fucked up this bad when Transmetropolitan already handled all of this absolutely perfectly. (In the world of the comic, body modification is so trivial to perform and so easily accessible that people who simply change sex aren't even considered remarkable anymore and the social issue is long in the past. Now there are people with genital taste buds and new exciting erogenous organs to argue about!)

     @Moon @jeder @brother @kazuma that's not really the problem people have, the problem people have is that it lets you do all these things but then doesn't actually have any meaningful trans characters to it just comes off as kind of a weird objectification thing

     @brother @kazuma i think people are upset about the trans representation in it, it like, tries but half asses everything really hard to the point where it just looks kinda ignorant and it would probably be better if they didn't try at all
