They caught happy lectern man and he is not smiling anymore
-
@sim @tedu Many BLM rioters were arrested.
-
@Moon @sim @tedu quite a lot more people were arrested in summer, and beaten etc"police response" was comparatively very light, could just be because police don't like shooting and beating people who can shoot back
-
@Moon @tedu Funny how it only matters when it directly threatens the politicians...
-
@tedu There's also a big difference in the police response between looting a Footlocker and looting the federal capitol building.
-
@Moon pretty sure most of them were operating under the belief that nobody had been arrested during blm riots.
-
@Moon who the fuck thought it was a good idea to1. record this shit2. not wear a fucking mask
-
@xj9 for most of the people, it seems like this wasn't really planned (a few scary people seemed hyper-prepared like the masked guy with the zip-ties)
-
@Moon @sim @tedu did manage to keep up the arresting-news-teams-for-violating-curfews-from-which-they're-explicitely-exempted trend, though
-
@Moon @sim @tedu whatever the reasons, things probably turned out better this way. could have been even worse than 5 people dying...
-
@shmibs @sim @tedu I've heard in part the police were less aggressive this time specifically because they were told to be less aggressive following the bad response to BLM. But I don't know if that's true.
-
@sim @Moon @tedu lax reaction started well before anyone was in the building. waiting a long time on sending reinforcement dudes and letting people run past
-
@shmibs @Moon @tedu Could also be because of where they are. Wouldn't want to damage the building. Or accidentally shoot the politicians or staff.
