A beautiful tanka from the Tale of Genji
植ゑて見し花のあるじもなき宿に知らず顔にて来ゐる鴬
uwe te mi si hana no aruzi mo naki yado ni sirazugaho niteki wiru uguhisu
植えて眺めた花の主人もいない宿に知らない顔をして来て鳴いている鴬よ（現代語訳）
The warbler has come again. It does not knowThat the mistress of its tree is here no more. (Seidensticker)
How the warbler sings, just as though nothing had changed, there among the flowers,in the tree she planted then, even when she is no more. (Tyler)

The context is the same as for the first tanka. Genji longs to die now that his love has died.
The lines before the poem make it even more poignant:
夜明けに、折も折、曹司に下りる女房であろう、「ひどく積もった雪ですこと」と言う声をお聞きつけになって、ちょうどその時の気がするが、側にいらっしゃらない寂しさも、言いようもなく悲しい。（現代語訳）

The snow will soon have left this gloomy world.My days must yet go on, an aimless drifting. (Seidensticker)

Context:
It is very early spring, there is still snow but the plum blossoms are out. Genji's wife and love if his life Murasaki has died some months before and he is still devastated.He is aimlessly gazing at the garden and in a blossoming plum tree that he remembers her planting, a songbird is singing.

@wim_v12e Good tanka.There are the same sound words in Japanese.雪 and 逝き have the same sound “ Yuki “.逝き means “go to disappear ( die).It is interesting technique in Tanka.
