@augustus depends on the work, but here it's pretty obvious, 女 is 'woman' and 子 is 'child', so the combo is 'like'. but many also make no sense at all as a combination and use one part of the semantics and another part for the pronunciation (that's happening here as well but a good combo has been selected that makes sense both ways).also check out 姦
