Where are all the trans people in China? You would think with 1.4 billion they would have a giant trans community and an even bigger lgbt one. For some reason they don't. It's almost like it's a societal creation and not a genetic one.

@rizzo @nik @Moon @crisp seems basically a matter of not having names for things and "women aren't important enough to notice", yeh, but obvs cases here and there if you look for them100 years ago the term going around was https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual_inversion_(sexology) , and conflated trans and gaymaybe there being a strong differentiation between the two is a modern social artefact, though; seems kind of like a same-sort-of-change, brain and body wooged around from prenatal hormones? or whatever it is, and sort of a difference of degree and location maybe, so have something like a spread of different possible outcomes

        Sexual inversion (sexology)
Sexual inversion is a term used by sexologists, primarily in the late 19th and early 20th century, to refer to homosexuality. Sexual inversion was believed to be an inborn reversal of gender traits: male inverts were, to a greater or lesser degree, inclined to traditionally female pursuits and dress and vice versa. The sexologist Richard von Krafft-Ebing described female sexual inversion as "the masculine soul, heaving in the female bosom".Initially confined to medical texts, the concept of sexual inversion was given wide currency by Radclyffe Hall's 1928 lesbian novel The Well of Loneliness, which was written in part to popularize the sexologists' views. Published with a foreword by the sexologist Havelock Ellis, it consistently used the term "invert" to refer to its protagonist, who bore a strong resemblance to one of Krafft-Ebing's case studies. Theory According to this theory, gay men and lesbians were sexual "inverts", people who appeared physically male or female on the outside, but felt internally that they were of the "opposite" anatomical sex (according to the binary view of gender). Therefore, same-sex desires...

@nik @Moon @crisp like whenever it's just like "we discovered this skeleton of this famous male cowboy to be actually a women!"I'm just like. "Did they just crossdress because women had no rights back then or our we all just misgendering some poor trans man??"And we will never know.

@rizzo @Moon @crisp @nik like, depending on when and how much an embryo is influenced, you'll get very different outcomes from the same influencer
