@shmibs I'm working with global company right now and there are many meetings in a week, but still I feel I'm suck at English to speak, How can I study a English speaking? it's very hard than writing
@mimorinka it's annoying, but reading and watching lots of english books and shows is probably the easiest way. just studying from a textbook won't help so much, i don't think
@orekix oh, in that casefor me, apparently i don't have much foreign accent in any language; it all has to do with how well you can hear. apparently i'm just 'naturally' good at that (and suck at a lot of other things), but hearing is also something you can practice at and improve at. it's like drawing, art students need to learn how to see things before they can actually draw themwould say something like take short snippets of someone speaking and just play them over and over and repeat after, listening hard and trying to match the sound exactlyit's also important to break your habits. when helping people to pronounce japanese, the first step was always having them speak without moving their mouths at all, and just try to match the vowel sounds really well. then intentionally add in mouth movements afterwards. looking at how different sounds physically are produced, which you can get from a little linguistics phonology stuff (here's an introductory course for that: https://essentialsoflinguistics.pressbooks.com/ ) and checking the ipa https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Phonetic_Alphabet for a word, can help also
@shmibs my native tongue is Spanish and I have a strong accent in English, I also tend to speak faster than most people in English because I carry that over from Spanish since it's spoken very fast
