    Less manual labor may be why today's young adults have weaker grips than their counterparts did 30 years ago. The change augurs limper handshakes and fewer opened jars for 20-somethings.

  @mrsaturday @moth_ball knife sounds scarymentioned after, mother has this thing that's like an acute angle with bumpy metal teeth, grips well and acts as a lever of sufficient length so opening anything is easy

  @shmibs For jars you can try fitting a knife in the gap under the lid and push towards the jar. If you get it right the lid will pop and opens easily. And metal lids like that also loosen up with hot water.
