These people are insane & lack any sort of self-awareness
-
@redneonglow @smithy @Moon companies promote certain candidates and shun others specifically FOR maximising profit
-
@Moon Although, I have noticed a growth in self-proclaimed libertarians with a left-leaning social bent
-
@smithy @Moon I used to be a libertarian, but what changed me was woke capitalism. Libertarianism only works when there's an invisible hand driving the market, which we don't have anymore under woke capitalism, since companies are willing to forgo profit to prevent certain candidates from being elected. That isn't capitalism - something which libertarianism depends on.The fact that most businesses support and fund Antifa/BLM defies the definition of capitalism completely. Therefore we can't have libertarianism.
-
@Moon she seems to still present herself as such lmao
-
@smithy It was a number of years back but yeah she was like "Being a Libertarian means you have to oppose the Patriarchy because it's anti-freedom" and stuff like that.
-
@smithy That moron spent years trying to infiltrate the Libertarian community with her bullshit.
-
@Moon Oh shit, really? I have no idea who she is, but she's (rightfully) getting a lot of flak for that post
-
@redneonglow @Moon @smithy yes it isthough the companies aren't promoting extremists of any kind. they're marketing to the centre of the rich customer base, which in the us is "typical democrat"
-
@shmibs @Moon @smithy But that isn't the goal when they're supporting Antifa/BLM and censoring conservatives.
-
@Moon @redneonglow @smithy rich segment is pro-police, though, so managed to twist the protest stuff away from "police reform" and towards "racism bad bad bad bad" etcsame with blacklisting that bernard or anyone who says "maybe help poor people"of course are certain companies marketing to whatever given niche also, but
-
@shmibs @redneonglow @smithy they're not extremists but they're dupes of extremists.
