     @labeochrysophekadion @lain i was born here and am poor to move anywhere(...also a little scared to; had a conversation other day with a girl who did for a while, and she was like "yeh... and then i started to miss you know that feeling when you first get in a car that's been sitting in the sun and everything is just bright and heat and shallow air ?", and could totally understand, here as a small used to lay down in the car and stick my head in the hottest corner and get extremely sweaty while mother was inside shopping or things, kinda sauna-y, and so then in the end she was too homesick and moved backand also also, people have been living here for thousands of years, and a lot of the heat is because urban heat island and damming up all the water, which is sort of a last 50-70 years phenomenon

     @labeochrysophekadion @coyote remember right it's death valley has highest measured but that one spot with the three divergent plates and neat acidic salt springs that stays highest year round. either way no one lives them directly, though
