     @shmibs @augustus I think Dawkins is a genius and his non-religious books were pretty mind expanding for me, but he has come to represent (sometimes) the fossilized part of academic science that is mostly interested in talking about how silly (or evil) the rest of the world is because they don't see things the same way.

     @augustus @lain he defaults to kinda strong black-and-white decisions on things even when unfamiliar with them. nuance can increase with experience and thought or an honest conversation with someone with relevant experienceproblem is black-and-white being popular for the people doing the "cancelling" as well, but with categorisations that don't match and no desire to engage
