"It's just a conspiracy theory according to all the scientists who, if it were true, would be responsible for the deadly, worldwide pandemic"
-
@lain @Moon can we just separate out "aliens" from the rest of that? Numerous world governments (to my knowledge India, Russia, and now the US) have come out saying there's stuff in the sky we can't explain. Is it really so weird to assume "alien" when alien could mean "been here the whole time but we just didn't know"?
-
@coyote @lain @Moon it's pretty weird, yeh
-
@Moon so you're an antivaxxer Trumper Christian who believes in aliens, got it.
-
@sim @coyote @lain @Moon relying on writing as a money-maker is not really a planbut you should do it anywayspeople who make "money" from writing are celebrities with ghost-written memoirs and a few bad-to-mediocre people who happened to be in the right place and time, like rowlingthe former you'll never be except through some other avenue, and the latter you'll never be except by accident. it's possible to get a little money, though, by writing well and being very-lucky-but-a-bit-less-soso the surest way to money-from-writing (which will almost definitely still not happen) is to write your very best the things you personally want to read, ignoring popular-fad waves
-
@lain @Moon @coyote Good ideas as well. Right now, my 'lottery ticket' is going to be my potential writing if I can dedicate the hours into it. But also branching out more and helping with favours for people could help things to go further. Plus it is just nice to help people.
-
@Moon @sim @coyote not wrong but also not advice. I'd say 1. Don't be afraid of 'finance'. Try to read up on how investment and compound interest works, even if you can't save much. 2. Try to figure out what you can do to get money. Try to free your mind from meaningless borders like "oh I can't do that because I don't have the degree / never did it / don't know if I can do it". Actually, it's not about the money. Just try to do positive things for the people around you without being afraid. Sometimes it takes years for it to take root and pay back.

@sim @coyote @lain get lucky and be interested in things that turn out decades later to be lucrative

-
@lain @Moon I honestly love that nothing gets too serious with you, or when it does it's justified, thanks for helping my timeline Take It Easy™

@lain @Moon Hey, I'm libertarian-left!
-
@coyote @Moon lol ok right-winger
-
@sim @coyote @lain @Moon ^^well, if there's somewhere to find your things, now-or-later, would love to read them
-
@shmibs @Moon @coyote @lain Yeah, that's the only way that I can write. Although some people can write to fads. I don't need a ton of money though, just enough to get through the milestones in life and leave something behind for my children. Perhaps even leave a legacy behind, even if only a few people learn of it or care about it.
-
@coyote @shmibs @Moon @lain The only thing that I can write is this. I'm compelled to write what I want to read, to tell my own stories. If other people get something out of it then even better. I want to be able to share my stuff.
-
@shmibs @sim @Moon @lain >write your very best the things you personally want to read, ignoring popular-fad waves100% agree with this whole comment, but mostly this sentence is a 200% agree
