@nik first alone-trip here was flying to north carolina, and it was pretty strangei love/hate airports, such a novel experience and all that space and weird architecture to move around in, but also the worry about having to rush from place to place in time is anxiety-inducing21 at the time maybe. visited a friend at her artsy college in the woods outside charlotte, which was an experience also. first time being so far east, and surrounded by weird strange people everywhere, "southern hippies", didn't know that was a thing. spent the week without shoes, and so much water and so many trees and green thingsmet this girl in someone's dorm and she showed me her sewing projects, and then we talked for like 6 hours and she grabbed my hand and we stared at the ceiling until falling asleepthat was the last day, and didn't see or talk with her again, but we exchanged right mittens, still have got it here, mine were red and hers loose-knitted teal and white
