Look, the problem can't be so complex that you have to make a crappy metaphor to explain it, while also being so simple that "everyone knows the causal factors" already. And if the issue really was right wing cigarettes, whatever that is supposed to represent, then we can test that premise. Have achievement gaps disappeared in deep blue cities? What about in deep blue states?

     @anonymoose @search_social @Moon if you're talking about u.s., "democrats" are "right wing" too, at least in their messagingbut pretty unrelated to anything though when what happens behind the posturing is just "whatever money-havers want"(kinda rather not pulled into this weird thread, but seems late for that

     Height is also epigenetic, as @PrettyHateMachine pointed out. And while most critical periods for intelligence may be locked to growth spurts in childhood as @shmibs pointed out, I doubt all of them are. Conversion stories and midlife crises are known to happen well into midlife [sic], and even a minor shift in iq can pay big long-term dividends while waiting for the next generation to mature.

     If someone smoking 2 packs a day in Hotan smog is coughing, we don’t have to make long-term exotic theories about “society” to do something about it. We all know the “causal factor” of stupidity and it’s the [monopoly of technocrats over the] TV. That’s why we all (400,000 of us who made at least one post on fedi the past month) got off Twitter.

     Sadly 400,000 is a plateau over the past 13 months, not a rising trend. The “causal factor” for this is also fairly obvious - the Right Wing has decided that rather than encourage our people to quit smoking, that they can “own the libs” by selling “Right-Wing brand” cigarettes, and also encouraging our people to smoke even more Twitter, but “ironically”.

     That’s correct. A voltmeter measures how good a battery is at driving a voltmeter.

     Fun fact: Batteries that are good at driving voltmeters tend to be good at driving real loads. Batteries that are bad at driving voltmeters tend to be bad at driving real loads.

     Anti-intellectuals hate IQ tests because they democratize knowledge in the same sense that the the Protestant Reformation democratized spirituality. Without an IQ test, a cabal of anti-intellectuals such ass @tost can arbitrarily declare themselves “aesthetic” while suppressing everybody else since there are no objective standards. IQ tests shatter that monopoly.

     As for @chjara ‘s observation that the discourse around IQ is just racism that’s absolutely correct. Punishing more intelligent races is extremely racist. Denying Whites access to IQ tests is the first step of White Genocide, as pointed out by known White Supremacist scholars like Walter Williams and Malcom X when tracing the precipitious decline of their races’ IQ directly to segregationists such as @wizzwizz4 ‘s rousing speechs that slaves reading books is dangerous, likening ideas to a “disease” that requires a “firebreak” to stop them from spreading.

     Speaking Chinese isn’t a physical thing therefore I speak perfect Chinese. There is no neurophysiological theory for speaking Chinese therefore I am definitely not a disgusting 杀屄 with the culture of a 猪狗. There is no theory of psychophysical reduction and thus no linkage between physical and mental traits and therefore despite never 认识 a 汉字 in my miserable life I am clearly equal in ability to 1.4 billion people including the highest scholars among them. Chinese BY DEFINITION cannot have explanatory or predictive power because it has no theories! No one can explain to me what Chinese is other than scribbling meaningless nonsense like 肏你祖宗十八代 therefore BY DEFINITION Chinese doesn’t exist.
