@lain @Moon @has Better for whom? The British "public" schools used to be quite monasterial. They certainly were good at perpetuating class distinctions and restocking British elite society with fresh personell, but dear god did (and do) they fuck those kids up in the process.

@Moon @has The modern world has an equivalent process called "sending the kids off to college". And it's shooting itself in both feet by pricing more and more young people out of.
