I don't think every or even most BLM-supporting people condone rioting but movement leaders do.

@Moon @icedquinn @chjara @parisc @dilans are unstable attention/money wanters online trying to claim credit for tens-of-thousands events occurring simultaneously everywherebacked by news teams focussing very hard on any violence that wasn't police-being-violent, which got censoredof course similar skewing applied to the dumb capitol thing too buthappened wasn't that complicated. people all stuck inside for months being antsy and glued to devices + highly publicised murder -> huge crowds in streethuge crowds marching are good cover for "doing stuff", so mix of crazy "leaders" you mentioned + organised crime that's been out of work for a while because shops are all closed + random people like that umbrella guy wanting to stir things up by appearing, breaking bunch of windows, and leaving or that lady few police officers helped to spraypaint "blm slogans" everywheremeanwhile thousands of video recordings start appearing on internet of police beating and maiming and torturing for no reason (plus a few third-party shootings of protestors, at a park, driving into crowds and shooting random people, that blue-shirt guy who threw two girls to the ground and then shoots skateboard guy who had "knife" that was a pair of glasses etc) and so over time the massive protests are slowly whittled down as more risk-averse leave and more "angry that you shot my friends finger off" people show up

@Moon @icedquinn @chjara @parisc @dilans yes, there was cover for "blm" but nothing for actual protestors is what i meant. "it's about race" is a good and useful narrative; "it's about government officials mutilating random people" isn't

A lot of people agree with them, they don't have to be formal leaders. yeah it's a huge problem but it's an adaptation to the state's ability to take out hierarchical organizations easily.re media, pic related, media did a ton of damage control for blm. I don't know that this applies at all levels, local news isn't as motivated.agree with you about cops making everything worse by being overt thugs.

@lichelordgodfrey @icedquinn @chjara @Moon @parisc @dilans maybe missed the part last year where guy did "self-defence" when attacked and then was immediately executed by police firing squad when he got home after doing an interview about the situation with news stationpolice beat up a lot of people, but usually avoid doing it to people "on their side"
