@Moon @icedquinn @lelouchebag slavery isn't a very efficient system, especially if slaves could have run away to the union from the confederacy and be free, something that wasn't possible when all states were part of the union.

@icedquinn @lelouchebag I don't buy the narrative that the north was mooching off the south, it was the other way around. The bottom line is that there was no future for slavery and perpetuating it hurt everyone.

@icedquinn @lelouchebag I was in the North and growing up they made it pretty clear in school that the war was about the union breaking up even if they didn't always acknowlege the southern secession was over slavery

@lelouchebag they tend to sell it in schools as north good south bad south had slaves so south bad the north won so freedom prevailed.they leave out the part where the north literally couldn't into constitutionalism and had to resort to a big war because there was no way to get the votes.@Moon

@icedquinn People forget this and they're fine with the federal gov basically being the shotcaller. That's why people are pissed about policy because fed gov only cares about like 10 cities since that's all the votes they need whereas rural areas like ohio are essentially at their whim and their vote is meaningless despite who they vote state-side
