@piggo @neikocat @cell Japanese are super racist (in a somewhat unoffensive way) and think it's bad they lost the war
-
@lain @neikocat @piggo @cell talking country as a unit so is too dangerous, i think; bf and friends are pocket the least such people ever have known, so maybe it's defensive/protective response this case, but more generally talking "country" as generally-meaningful-unit kinda leads to that type stuff in the first place (racism etc

@lain @neikocat @piggo @cell can say so, but really think it's not very useful and causes problems to generalise such, mmm. becomes group of guys in a thread somewhere being "i went to <japan/china/wherever> and everyone was *SOOO* <racist/whatever>, gosh", and then each person comes away with this changed perception of country as like a certain person, becomes quickly "china is out to get us" "the spanish are invading" "kill every <oblique-meme-reference-to-appearance-or-so-that-at-one-point-served-as-means-to-redirect-suspicion-a-bit>"like of course there's "ネトヨウ" type or whatever, and have encountered once before girl and two her friends openly mocking people when thinking nobody can understand they're saying, but also there's friend who spontaneously helped out nigerian immigrants church charity drive thing and ends up with nigerian bf, or loved one here somehow cares a person like me, sensei listens and shares when i start crying too much and talks about how much she loves the way foreign writers use japanese in unconventional ways, and couple of friends boys dating across the jp-china boundary even the tension those countries have etc...just any time one story then there's another counterexample
