@Moon @0 @TurboNormie > コンビニで外国人従業員が増えている理由
-
@0 @TurboNormie japan has to be subverted because it's an example that you don't need the shit that gets foisted on us. How do menial jobs get done without an endless flow of illegal labor from across the border? It turns out that Japanese people do it, or it gets automated out of existence.
-
@TurboNormie @Moon It would be interesting to see UBI data from Japan where they don't have racial tensions to exploit and there exists a strong social pressure to be productive/useful.
-
@TurboNormie the assumption is that only a small percentage of people are productive and they are productive enough to keep society running. However nobody would do menial jobs like work fast food if they didn't have to, so UBI would be hugely transformative.
-
@Moon As the past 2 years have shown, society really needs people to work menial jobs. In some cases it's because the job is important (truck driver), in others it's to keep people with destructive impulses from destroying society (BLM Summer 2).

Libertarian priors moment on a dead topic but the easiest argument against the whole "UBI will allow people to pursue creative passions" os that you can point to any number of groups across all ages and demographics and instantly counter the idea that anyone but the tiniest fraction have any creative impulses at all. Just look at how most boomers fritter away the last few remaining years of good, healthy living or college students living off "free" (for the moment) debt treat their youth.
