@sampo @hj yeah there are radio stations over the world broadcasting the time on a specific frequency and the clock just takes the one with the strongest signal

@hj I recently got a new radio alarm clock and it's been keeping me up at night how it syncs the clock automatically. I know it's not NTP because it's not some IOT piece of shit, but the instruction manual doesn't go into a lot of detail about it, and it's some cheap chink thing so information isn't really available on the internet. I literally just took it out of the box, plugged it into the wall and within the time I had read in the manual how to adjust the clock, it had already synced it. To my measurements it's accurate to within a few hundredths of a second so it's not really possible that they just set it at the factory and it has a little battery somewhere. I'm worried it's gonna stab me in my sleepother than that, all of my non-computer clocks need manual adjustment because I'm pic related and every time I feel like I have more clocks than I remembered

@sampo thanks for reminding me. Although only one clock that i needed to adjust, even my fucking radio clock does automatic DST now
