しろくま／3.6kg痩せる＠22竹林が分布する可能の高い地域は西日本に多く（地図上の赤色の地域）、都道府県別の分布平均確率は長崎県、佐賀県、山口県、千葉県、福岡県、大分県、島根県、京都府、兵庫県、静岡県で高い。 逆に大型タケ類の分布北限と考えられる北海道、東北各県では分布確率は低くなっている。
