     @Moon @CrushBead @noyoushutthefuckupdad I think this is a misperception. Education (read: indoctrination) really doesn't get through to most people. The hispanics who went through the libtardization I went through are all still culturally hispanic and would find "assimilating" to wasp culture repulsive. 99% of Americans just get on Mr Public Education's wild ride for a while, then get off and never look back.

     @Moon @noyoushutthefuckupdad Once the culture shock wears off it becomes really tiresome. Japanese have like this mindset that there is only one way to do things correctly, and just expect you not ever get it. Even when you have been there a while they still treat you like an ignorant foreigner. You can do things correctly, maintain the proper respect, and obey the social mores and they will still find some reason to pick at you because you didn't do things the exact way that one specific Japanese person likes so you are clearly an ignorant foreigner. They make a big deal out of not upsetting the mood, yet some of them go out of their way specifically to upset the mood in such a way that it is somehow your fault as a foreigner. Year after year of that shit wears on you.Japanese have a real specific way of being rude in their politeness.

     @shmibs so like most of my educational career the thing promoted was post-racial harmony. then people started saying salad bowl not melting pot and it started changing very rapidly after that.
