     @cjd @Hyolobrika @fikran i wonder if that isn't stretching the definition of 'tolerant' to useless proportions. if your ideology is "i want to be left alone", you'll have to be intolerant towards people who don't leave you alone, but that seems quite different from the intolerance required by an aggressive ideology that can't rest until everyone believes in it.

     "Tolerant ideologies" get wiped out instantly, only intolerant ideologies survive. That doesn't mean an ideology can't claim tolerance, it's just that it's lying.

     But again, in order for The NAP to even work at all, you need to convince the whole world to believe in it. Lets say you try to convince people in the benefits of the NAP, and the other guy tries to convince the people in the benefits of stealing your stuff -- that other guy is going to have more resources to do convincing with...

     @cjd @ratanon @lain @fikran @shmibs does *everyone* need to agree though? if I am strong enough to defend against what I consider aggression, why can't I just do that without aggressing against anyone else?

     NAP works perfectly as long as everyone agrees exactly on what does and does not constitute "aggression" - which they don't, so it doesn't.
